Litter Genie from Crowdtap

So I got the Litter Genie Cat litter disposal system for Free to try out from Crowdtap....

This unit is suppose to eliminate litter odor. Like the diaper genie. You store used kitty litter in the unit so it doesn't have to mix with your normal kitchen trash, now every time you open the trash to throw something out you don't smell kitty litter. I love this idea.
So the unit, is made of a sturdy plastic, smooth finish, white, with a sliver scoop and scoop holder. The genie comes with 14 feet of plastic that creates tubes, which you tie in a knot at the bottom to create a bag, insert the bags into the genie and start filling.  The unit or genie is reuseable but the bags need to be purchased.

Here's my set up process.

Arrival

The Kit... (Plus kitty was interested in the unit) The kit: Genie, bags (the square), scoop and scoop holder.

The scoop holder fits securely on the side of the genie.

The second step, I pulled the security tab on the bags, then pulled the bag out and over the top of the black square. The bags are a tube type shape. I then tighted a knot at the bottom to secure the kitty litter.  see instructions on the bag container below.

Now the bags can go into the genie. I opened the top lid. and placed the bags with the bag side down within the unit. The black ring fits on the white ring within the opening below.

You do have to pull out the grey handle to allow for the blue bags to extend into the genie. The handle is on a spring so bounces back into place when released.
I put down the interior top to secure the bags and the unit is ready to use.
So the genie. All you have to do is fill the top with kitty litter, and then pull the handle at the front of the unit to allow for the used kitty litter to fall to the bottom, but the handle spring is stiff. You have to push it back in, so it doesn't stay open. The top does close, but it seems like the unit will fail sooner then later. It is a good idea, like I said above I don't like to mix my normal trash with litter. So this is a great idea.

Is it an added expense, but over all is it useful.

Thanks Crowd tap, I think this will eliminate odor and my kitchen will stay fresher longer.
